ELENA GORDON
Teaching
I have broad teaching experience and interests.

I am especially interested to teach courses in early modern philosophy, with a focus on history of ethics, feminism, metaphysics, epistemology, and the epistemic function of emotions.

At the University of Sydney, I have course-coordinated, lectured, and co-lectured subjects throughout the history of philosophy, including in early modern philosophy and in hellenistic philosophy.

I have taught several subjects outside of early modern philosophy. This includes introductory courses, and courses in ancient philosophy, contemporary ethics, and existentialism.

I have received awards for my teaching. This includes a University of Sydney Postgraduate Teaching Fellowship, and a Dean's Citation for Excellence in Tutorials.
The University of Sydney awards the Postgraduate Teaching Fellowships competitively and on the basis of sustained teaching excellence in one's department. Tutors are nominated for a Citation for Excellence by course coordinators in recognition of outstanding contributions to teaching and student learning in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. I was nominated for this award by Professor Rick Benitez in 2020.

I would be happy to share syllabi for courses that I have designed and instructed via email.
